What the Wednesday! - (I'm back!)

We had a great Christmas vacation to California
It was nice to be with the Becar family
I got strep throat while we were there
Which was not so nice
But what do you do?

This morning, Cannon was talking to me
About how Mommies and Daddies don't have toys in their room
But they have a bathroom
And a little room full of clothes
He said "Mom, I'm so sad for you that you don't get toys"
Probably one of his best deep thoughts

This year I didn't really make any specific resolutions
Like I usually do
I just want to be happy
Not get mad/frustrated/sad about little things
Or compare myself to others
Find the happiness in my current state of affairs
And my tiny kitchen
Because, man, do I have it good

I read the entire Hunger Games trilogy last week
Started on Tuesday, finished Friday
I knew once I started I wouldn't be able to stop
I get that way sometimes
It was so good and so different
I have watched the movie trailer like 20 times
Augh! I can't wait!

I counted my nail polishes last night
I have 76 different colors
I'm surprised my family hasn't staged an intervention

Going to Philadelphia in March
Never been before
Anything we should do/see?
I mean, besides eat a Philly cheese steak, of course

Haze is so good about her allergies lately
Which is good because sometimes I'm not very diligent
Cannon left his grilled cheese sandwich too close to her plate
She pushed the plate away
And said "cheese samwich make me sick"
Such a proud moment
She totally gets it

You would think being vegan and all
That Hazel would be skin and bones
But we weighed her the other day
She weighs 30 lbs.
(which is somewhere between the 50th and 75th percentile)
Cannon weighs 40
I couldn't be happier with her progress
Take that, failure to thrive!

Have a thriving Wednesday!

Wow! 30 pounds is huge for her! Congratulations!

I have 2 colors of nail polish. Red and blue. Pitiful.

See the liberty bell and independence hall! And I think there's some famous cupcake shop there, but I don't remember what it's called.

Zoe weighs 29 pounds and is 22 months. I think I need to stage an intervention.

How have you waited this long to read the Hunger Games??? You're so lucky you got to read all 3 at once.

Hazel is such a sweet girl! I just adore her! You can go to http://pediatrics.about.com/cs/usefultools/l/bl_percentiles.htm and also http://pediatrics.about.com/cs/usefultools/l/bl_percentiles.htm to see exactly where your kids lay on the weight chart. My latest blog was my kids' heights and weights for the start of the year to see how much they grow.

Cannon, he's such a funny boy! We miss him around here.

Good luck on finding things that make you happy this year! I don't know how to not compare myself to others. Your house is always either spotless or within 5 minutes of being so. My next door neighbor is the same way.

Can't wait for The Hunger Games movie! Is it just going to be the first book? We'll have to do a big girls night again!! I know Kendra is super excited about it, too!

Oh, cool. According to that site, Hazel is in the 60th percentile and Cannon is 64th. Very cool. It's a good thing my carnivore and herbivore children are exactly the same on the charts. Haha! At least I can say I'm doing something right. :)

Yeah, take that failure to thrive! (Okay I know I'm prego-emoto, but reading that made me tear up a little.) Go Ashley and Jarom and Hazel and Cannon!

I didn't make New Years resolutions this time either.

I sort of agree with Cannon that it's sad that you don't have any toys. Maybe your enormous nail polish collection counts though.

Glad you're back!
