Easter Weekend

Our Easter weekend was great. We started out on Friday night getting together with some old friends. These were the couples that we worked with to plan our Stake Youth Conference Trek about 2 years ago. We all had so much fun together and we still see everyone now and then. Cannon stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's house and he dyed eggs there. I have no pictures of either of those things. How sad.

Easter morning, Cannon woke up to find his Easter basket. He was excited about his presents. For roughly 7 seconds, he ogled the contents and then he saw the lid of a saucepan and was distracted. All well. He got bottles of his favorite puff snacks. He also got bubbles and a football. He got a few eggs with candy but daddy quickly helped him eat those.

We went to church with my parents and family. They did a beautiful musical number. It was so nice. I haven't been to my old ward since we were married so it was fun to see some old friends. The little kids have all grown up. It's really crazy!

After church, we went to my aunt and uncles' house in Orem. We had a GREAT time there. It was so nice and relaxing.

We started out with the traditional Easter egg hunt on the lawn. Here's Cannon's first egg.

The funny thing about Cannon finding eggs is that he HATES grass. He literally freaks out and wiggles his hands to get the grass off. So, the pictures that I have are pretty funny.

This is his male model pose.

Then he took a break to eat some dirt. He's always thinking ahead.

We had a yummy dinner of roast and vegetables and cupcakes for dessert. Yum!

Then we celebrated birthdays. March and April birthdays opened presents and cards. Grandma and Grandpa both had birthdays so they held Cannon while I snapped some pictures. My cute little cousin Kobe is a major softy. Here he is giving Cannon some kisses.

Then we just hung out for a little while talking and laughing with our family. This is my Uncle Jeff and my Grandma trying to figure out the camera. I thought it was funny.
We had a blast with everyone. Here are a few other random photos.

Portland

I finally got my camera back last night. (THANKS JAROM!) I was so excited to go through the pictures from the trip. We had so much fun. I was SO tired when we got back. I love my big huge family and it's always a good time when we get together. My cousin, Chris got married to a cute girl named Kenni. They are such darling couple and they threw a great party.

I was so nervous for the plane ride there. It was Cannon's first flight. Thankfully my mom and brother were great helps during boarding and on the flight. Cannon adores his Uncle Brady and it was great to have other arms to hold him.
Here they are on the plane. There was a girl with really long hair sitting right in front of us. Her hair kept peeking through the seat and Cannon really wanted to pull it. I think he might have gotten hold a couple of times. I'm sorry!

Did I mention how nice it was to see GREEN grass? Oregon is beautiful. I mean, look how GREEN it was! This is my aunt's backyard and really, this picture doesn't do it justice.

The Brown's were such great hosts. We enjoyed every minute at their house. It's so nice and relaxing there. Here they are after eating our Burgerville hamburgers and chocolate hazelnut milkshakes. MMMMMmm! Don't they have to same blue eyes? Cute boys.

We had a family dinner and bridal shower the night we got there. The food was amazing and the shower was so fun. Poor Kenni was a good sport. We played a game where she answered questions about Chris and if she got them wrong, we got to put makeup on her. Grandma loved that. She looked beautiful even with clown cheeks.

The next day was the wedding. It was so nice and the Portland temple is so beautiful.
Here are the bride and groom.

Here we are in the atrium.

My mom, Brady, Cannon and I outside taking pictures.

After the temple, we went to the Brown's for Millie's sandwiches. YUM! It was a great spread of delicious food.

The reception that night was so cool. They had it in a barn. A real barn. It was so pretty and very cold. They had a chocolate fountain, candy bar, cupcake counter and fun music and dancing.

Cousins! Kristin & Dono - Me and Brady and Cannon.

These three were all born last year. Averi was born in March and the other two were June babies. Miles and Cannon are 5 days apart! The mommies are all cousins. Cherali, Heather Lee and Ashley.

We had so much fun and I can't wait to go to Oregon again. There is never enough time to do everything and see everyone. Thanks for the great time everyone!

Can You Tell...

I've been without my camera for over a week now. It's completely my fault. I put it in my mom's carry-on bag when we were leaving the Portland Airport. It has been there ever since. We even went to my parents house this weekend and they had it sitting out on the entryway table for me. I just forgot to pick it up. Yesterday Cannon turned 9 months and I didn't get to take pictures. I guess I rely more on my camera than I ever thought. I miss that thing and I think I might make a special trip just to pick it up. I promise lots of pictures when I get it back. Until then, here's a picture of my camera (well, that's not mine, but it's the same model). I MISS YOU!

Preschool

Jarom and I have discussed it and I am going to have a preschool this coming Fall. I've wanted to do one for a long time and this is my chance. With the basement near completion, I can use the big room for my classroom. I still have all my teaching stuff in boxes in the garage. Don't even get me started on my collection of books. So, if you know anyone in the area looking for a preschool... let them know. I've missed teaching so much. I couldn't be more excited!

A Few Changes

Whew!

I thought I would take a break from mudding downstairs. I just wanted to make a cute banner for the blog and it turned into a "pimp my blog" all-day session. I hope you like the changes. Oh, and if you really want to hear the music, just head to the bottom and push play. It just bugged me sometimes to have it always going.

That's All.

It's Official!!

We got word this morning that Jarom was approved by the Board of Education to be placed as the Vice Principal at his school. He has been working as a TAA (Teacher on administrative leave) since December. We were unsure if this job would be made permanent since the position had to be filled by an approved member of the pool. It's all kind of strange and political, but we are so relieved. He starts the official position in July. This means a pay raise for us and less hours gone since he won't be working on his Master's Degree anymore. YAY! He graduates in April with a degree in Educational Leadership. Just the other day he mentioned wanting to keep going and earn his Doctorate. Ummm... I think we'll just take a break or now. We are going to celebrate by sanding and texturing the basement! Fun times! More to come on that project later. :)

Cannon Says Dada

He loves his daddy and says dada all day long. We don't think he knows what it means yet, but it's still pretty cute. Jarom melts every time he hears it. I caught this little bit on my phone so pardon the grainy screen. Please also pardon the clutter and the tv blaring in the background. I honestly don't usually notice that it's on because I just like the noise during the day. It's a bad habit. You can also see him stand up for a second before he falls over. That's a new thing too. He can stand for a few seconds at a time now.

I try to get him to say mama all the time. We still have no progress there, but maybe soon. :)

Also, I just got back from a trip to Portland for a wedding. I have some fun pictures, but somehow my camera ended up in my mom's bag. I haven't gotten it back yet, but when I do, I'll be posting about that trip. So fun!

Before you view this video, you might want to go to the bottom and pause my music so you can hear.
