The Nursery

We still have a few things to finish, but it's mostly done!

LinkThings I made: The quilt, dust ruffle, lampshade.
Things I painted or embellished: mirror, letters, shelf, canopy
Mirror and canopy: Tammi's Finders Keepers
Shelf and most of the flowers: Tai Pan
Chandelier: IKEA

The walls are bright pink with glitter (can't really see the glitter in the pictures, but it's there!) and creamsicle orange. If you ever want to put glitter on your walls, just beware that every member of your household will be covered for days. Once the paint dried, the sparkles were permanently attached.

I'm loving how it turned out. I like to go in and sit on the rocker and just soak it all in. It makes it all feel so real.

Spring Break

We have absolutely loved having Jarom home with us this whole week. Cannon adores his Daddy and they have had some great bonding time. I have had the opportunity to take naps and sleep in each morning while Jarom entertains Cannon.

We have gotten a lot of things done around the house. We have worked hard on baby girl's room. It's almost done and I can't wait to post pictures of it. It has turned out better than I imagined. We also transitioned Cannon to a big-boy bed which he is loving. We got his room all cleaned up and organized.

Today we decided to have a fun day outside the house. We rode Trax to Salt Lake to visit the Gateway Children's Museum. He loved the "choo choo" ride. My mom and dad and three of my sisters came too. The museum was packed, but Cannon still had a blast. His favorite part was the helicopter. Here he is waiting his turn to pilot the helicopter:
After we strolled the Gateway, we went to Temple Square. After the cold and snowy week we've had, it was so exciting to see the beautiful flowers blooming all around the temple.
My dad took some pictures for us:
This one is from the Visitor's Center. Cannon was pointing at the Christus statue and saying "Jesus". I love his expression.
I really wish we had another week or two to spend with Jarom home. He is such a great daddy and husband. He works so hard for us and we just love him.

Easter

We had a great Easter this year. We colored eggs the night before and I am definitely glad that's a once a year thing. We had to give Cannon a good scrub in the tub since he was mostly orange and blue.

Cannon was so cute when he woke up the next morning to find his basket stuffed with goodies and toys. He made quite a mess as he opened all the eggs and played with the toys.

After church, we went to family dinner at GG Wright's house. We had a hunt for Easter eggs there. When Cannon discovered that the eggs had candy in them, he started throwing them on the cement to get to the candy. I forgot to get a good picture of him in his outfit before he was a chocolate covered mess. These pictures are as good as it gets.

I like that he tried to pose for this one, with a mouth full of chocolate:

Cannon Talk

I've been wanting to do this post for a while. Cannon is at this cute stage where he is trying to talk more and more each day. His vocabulary is growing exponentially. While his word use is impressive to us, his pronunciation isn't always right on. I just wanted to create this translation guide before he grows up and starts asking for milk instead of "mott." I completely understand if this is not interesting to you as a reader, but it's just one of those things that I always want to remember. So, I'm going to try my best to spell out phonetically the way he says some things. They might not be completely accurate, but I'll do my best! They are in no particular order:
