What the Wednesday!

Tuesdays are officially dubbed my most dreaded day of the week
Why?
It's shopping day
Hazel refuses to keep her boots on
I lose Cannon at least once an hour
They whine, they cry, they bother each other
Yesterday it was Good Earth, Costco and Walmart
By the end of it my face was red, I was flustered, disheveled, ornery
I just can't win
It's time to look at my week and see when I can possibly go shopping without them
Grrrr...

Piano music has made a huge difference in my house
It calms us all down and makes our mornings go so smoothly
Okay, sometimes I get sick of it
But my taste in music is that of a 13 year old girl most of the time
Try the Jon Schmidt station on Pandora

So,
Jarom got called into the bishopric on Sunday
He'll be over the youth which he loves
I have mixed emotions about the whole thing
I'll actually see him more often on Sundays which is great
And I love the men and their families that will be serving with him
Plus, the bishop is awesome!
I just feel so very inadequate
It will be good
I just realize I have a lot of growing up to do
Starting with complaining less
And not yelling at my kids as much
And wearing pants more often
That's for you, Kendra ;)

Got these at Costco yesterday
(sorry I can't find a better link than that)
I can't describe how yummy they are
Just buy them, please

The way Hazel says pumpkin
Makes my insides turn into soft, whipped fluff
Po'nkin

Speaking of pumpkins
I think I'm going to try out 3 or 4 different vegan pumpkin pie recipes
In preparation for Thanksgiving
I've got to get it just right
Hazel best be prepared to enjoy herself some pumpkin pie

I'm a Thanksgiving-ist
Just so you know where I stand on the ever-polarizing
Thanksgiving comes after Halloween issue
Thanksgiving is a holiday, too
And it's certainly one of my favorites
I could do without the football
But other than that, it's just perfect
I don't think we'll be making a tofu turkey, though
Just FYI

Jarom rented a carpet cleaner and cleaned my carpets on Saturday
It's amazing how good they look
He's a keeper

Have a refreshing Wednesday!

I like reading these posts. :D I'm excited for your family with Jarom's new calling. He's already had lots of demanding callings so I'm sure you're used to that. It was kind of a hard transition for us. I'm sure Jarom will be great and there's not a better girl than you in all the land.
Don't know if you're a love and logic mommy, but I sort of love their shopping solution. You just arrange for another adult to be in the parking lot and when they act out, the other adult takes them to the car and makes them sit there bored til the shopping is done. In theory you only have to do it once before they're angel shoppers who keep up with you and don't whine or get lost. Anyway, I'm willing if you ever want my help on a Tuesday shopping trip.

Thanksgiving is my favorite. I don't know if it's the food (probably) or the family, or the memories from my childhood, but it's the most exciting time of the year for me. I LOVE it.

Good luck to all of you with that calling! Jarom is perfect for the youth.

I only go grocery shopping if I only have Zoe (or none of the kids). I just can't handle it.

Do you listen to Jim Brickman? One of my favorites.

Piano music calms my nerves. Maybe it would do us some good in nursery??? :) I would love to hear Hazel say pumpkin. Enjoy it as much as you can. Rylee called them bu-bunkins. I miss that! You need not feel inadequate regarding Jarom's calling. Behind every good man stands a great woman! You are part of the reason he's there. Just continue to do what you've already been doing- support him and facilitate his ability to serve. I am with you on the whole Thanksgiving thing. I feel like there's a scratch in the calendar and we've skipped a whole month. Have a great week!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a super hard time taking my kids shopping with me. I banned Zuri from it months ago :) She doesn't keep her shoes on either..or ever for that matter. I go at night so Chris can watch them, but my store is open 24 hours so that helps.

I feel ya with the calling. Chris was in a bishopric for the singles ward last year. Pressure was on cause I was in classes with a lot of the students, I was younger than a lot of them, and I had the loudest (and only) baby in sacrament. It is fun though, I did like it. Everyone is always so sweet to the wives :) You guys will be great for your ward.

I bet your cooking is delicious, I will need to try it someday! Happy T-day my dear.
